Stay In The Know:

Meet My Baba

As we enter our eighth week of the Fancy Kids blog we almost cannot believe how quickly the last two months have passed, a sign of busy times and having fun! We do know though that we’re extremely happy with the little weekly updates we have been posting, and the positive feedback all of you lovely people have given us has made it all worthwhile. Our aim with the blog has always been to focus on a different aspect of the children’s fashion industry and parenting life with every instalment.

Thus this week we are incredibly happy to turn our attention to MyBaba, a wonderful website and blog “packed with expert advice and information on all aspects of fertility, pregnancy, motherhood and parenting.” These are not our words but the description of MyBaba founder Leonora Bamford, an inspirational woman who set up her business more by chance than anything else. With two young children of her own she found herself writing long essay type emails when giving advice to her pregnant friends, until her husband suggested maybe all this work would be more productive as one overall collection. And alas, today Leonora proudly owns one of the most respected parenting websites on the internet. MyBaba in essence could be described as an extremely informative website for parents, but one that goes the extra mile in covering the many different facets of our daily lives when looking after young children. The reality is that when our young ones are relying on us to look after their every single need from morning to night, just taking five minutes to catch our breath is often the greatest luxury we can afford ourselves, and that’s why MyBaba is such a breath of fresh air.

Before anything else, one of its greatest strengths is its user experience, as the site looks beautiful and creative and is incredibly simple to navigate around. You can find information from a number of different tabs, such as under the Food section where chefs and nutritionists contribute healthy recipes for the entire family to enjoy, and there is even the occasional video tutorial featuring Leonora herself and a chosen expert to run us through creating the perfect dish for adults and children. Put it this way, after a long day looking after the kids something like this is absolutely marvellous to provide you with culinary ideas…and not to mention save you a lot of time wondering what to cook in the kitchen! Other tabs include the Parenting and Pregnancy sections, with very inciteful advice about these two periods in both a mother and father’s life, from regular blog contributors who are of course speaking with great knowledge and first-hand experience. There are articles based on everything from doing pilates whilst pregnant to a video tutorial on how to create a cute hairstyle for your little girl.

The success of MyBaba then as you may already be familiar with if you have seen the website, is in its ability to combine the very helpful and informative aspects of everything surrounding parenting, but do so in a fun and laid back manner so we can take everything in at our own pace and really feel part of the MyBaba community. This is a direct result of its wonderful range of contributors, with everyone from medical experts to TV stars, and the fantastic resident “Super Nanny” Nanny Anita .

Of course the greatest achievement of all belongs to Leonora, who in creating MyBaba has provided such an important, helpful and welcoming forum for parents to embrace and turn to for all manner of advice. We at Fancy Kids commend her on the brilliant work so far, and long may it continue!
