5 Fun Easter Activities to Do with Kids

With a long weekend and school holidays for some, Easter is made for spending time with the family. But how can you keep everyone entertained and in the Easter spirit? Well don’t worry, because Fancy Kids have some great ideas for keeping the little ones busy this weekend. From fun outdoor activities to traditional indoor crafts, here are our five favourite Easter activities for parents and kids

Have an Easter Egg Hunt

No Easter is complete without an Easter egg hunt! Egg hunts are brilliant for children of all ages and are easy to organise. Simply hide chocolate eggs (or plastic eggs with a healthy treat inside) around your home or garden, then give your child an Easter basket and let the search begin. For even more fun, invite your children’s friends around to join in the hunt.

Decorate Eggs

This Easter, why not take a break from eating mountains of chocolate eggs and make decorated eggs instead? Decorating eggs is an easy and creative activity that children of all ages can get involved in; all you need is a few hard-boiled eggs and some craft supplies. This is an excellent way to spend a rainy Easter weekend, but parents be warned…it can get a little messy!

Make Easter Bonnets

Continuing with the crafty theme, making Easter bonnets is an old Easter tradition that’s fun for the whole family. You can either make a bonnet from scratch by cutting out cardboard, or save time by decorating an old straw hat. When it comes to Easter bonnets, the more elaborate the better, so make sure you get creative with your designs!

Visit a Farm

If you want to get out and about this Easter weekend, a visit to a nearby farm is a great opportunity for kids to see real Easter bunnies and find out where eggs actually come from. Many farms host family days over the Easter period and offer activities for children to get involved in, such as feeding baby lambs and petting rabbits. Farm visits are a lovely way to make lasting family memories with your little ones.

Take Part in a Duck Race

Finally, here’s another enjoyable Easter tradition that kids are sure to love. Many towns and villages around the UK hold annual duck races over the Easter weekend, where children and parents can choose a plastic duck to race down the river. These events are just as fun as they sound, especially when the sun is shining. Look for your nearest Easter duck race online.

What do you have planned for the Easter weekend? If you have any other ideas for fun Easter activities to do with the kids, we’d love to hear them!
